Rules of Live Baccarat

Professionally-trained dealers at our fully customized casino await Live Baccarat players. These games are played with 8 decks, each comprising 52 cards apiece. The following card values hold in baccarat:

• Aces assume the lowest value, and are worth 1 each.
• Cards from 2 through 9 assume their face value.
• 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are worth 0 in baccarat.
• Suits (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades) don't matter in baccarat – only the numerical card value has significance.

Before any cards are dealt in baccarat, players must place a bet. You can wager on the Player Hand, the Banker Hand, or even a Tie if you wish. The objective is to get as close to 9 as possible in baccarat.

Assume the following hand values:

• Player Hand – King + 7 = 7
• Banker Hand – 5+8 = 3

The Player Hand wins because it is closest in value to 9

• Player Hand: 9 + 9 = 8
• Banker Hand: Queen + 9 = 9

The Banker Hand wins because it is closest in value to 9

Next, the dealer initiates the action by dealing 2 cards to the Player and the Banker in turn.

The hands are evaluated. If the Player Hand and the Dealer Hand are equal in value, then the round ends in a tie. The winning bet is the Tie bet; player bets and banker bets are returned.

Any hand value totaling more than 10 simply has the tens digit removed. Consider the following hand totals on the left, and the baccarat value on the right:

• 20 – 0
• 19 – 9
• 18 – 8
• 17 – 7
• 16 – 6
• 15 – 5
• 14 – 4
• 13 – 3
• 12 – 2
• 11 – 1

Another important rule in baccarat takes place when the player or the banker forms a hand value of 8 or 9 off their first two cards. In this case, it's a natural and no additional cards are dealt.

If on the other hand, the player or the banker’s initial two cards are worth 0 through 7, the Third Card Rule kicks into effect. This will tell you whether a third card needs to be dealt to the Player Hand, the Banker Hand, or both hands. In Live Baccarat, the player is always first to act.

FIRST TWO CARDS WITH PLAYER HAND

• Hand value of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 – Player Draws Third Card
• Hand value of 6, or 7 – Player Stands firm
• Hand value of 8, or 9 – No Third Card is Dealt

If the Player Hand is 6 or 7, and the Banker Hand is 3, 4, or 5, then the Banker must draw a third card. If the Player Hand is 6 or 7, and the Banker Hand is 6, the Banker must stand. The hand value closest to 8 or 9 wins in Live Baccarat.

BET PLACEMENT
