- Blackjack is an Ace + 10-value card. You can score a natural blackjack with Ace + 10-Jack-Queen-King. But it’s only possible off your first two cards dealt. Blackjack winning hands pay 3:2. If you throw down C$500 and win on Blackjack, your payday is 1.5X C$500 = C$750. Remember that any hand value of 21 made of more than 2 cards is not blackjack, but simply 21. It pays even money, and always loses to a dealer blackjack.
- The Insurance bet is a great hedge against a dealer blackjack. If the dealer’s upcard is an Ace, you have the option to play the Insurance bet. In Super Stakes Blackjack, the dealer always deals a new round of play from freshly-shuffled cards. There are 4 decks, with 52 cards apiece in every blackjack game online. Players have many different bet options in Super Stakes Blackjack, starting as low as C$10 per hand, all the way up to C$3,000 per hand. There are multiple chip denominations, including C$1, C$10, C$50, C$100, and C$500. As with other variants of blackjack, the dealer draws on 16 and stands on all 17s, including hard 17s and soft 17s. Now that you’re ready to deal, take a look at the list of available blackjack actions:
- Hit – Draw additional cards in blackjack. You can continue drawing until you’re satisfied with your hand total, or until you bust.
- Double Down – A great way to boost your stakes in the game. You can Double Down by placing an additional bet the same size as your original bet once your first 2 cards have been dealt. You get 1 more card once you Double Down. Whatever your hand total is, that’s your what you will be required to stand on.
- Stand/Stay – Stick with your current hand total without drawing any other cards.
- Insurance Bet – As mentioned earlier, the insurance bet is only available to players when the dealer has an Ace showing. Insurance bets cost 50% of the value of your original bet. With insurance, you’re protected in the event of a dealer blackjack. With insurance bet the odds of the dealer having blackjack are 4/13 and the odds of the dealer not having blackjack are 9/13. This bet pays 2:1. It’s known as a sucker bet because players are far more likely to lose the insurance bet over the long-term.
- Split – In Super Stakes Blackjack, players can split identical cards – such as 7-7, 9-9, Queen-Queen, etcetera. Remember, if you split Aces in Super Stakes Blackjack, then you can’t form Blackjack. Even if your split hand is Ace-10-value card, it’s considered 21. A dealer Blackjack automatically beats a player 21. Once you split cards, an additional bet is placed at the same value as your original bet.
- Even Money – this is an interesting option available to players. If the player has Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card) and the dealer is showing an Ace upcard, the player can take Even Money without waiting to see the dealer’s other card.
- A Push - This is a Tie. It happens when the Player hand and the Dealer hand are identical in value. Be advised that a Push is only possible with a hand total of 17 or greater.
